HAT ATTACK PRODUCT CARE: The majority of our products are hand made, using natural materials. These materials are unique and should be cared for. Straw hats are not meant to get wet, pinched, or bent. Panama hats in particular are fragile, particularly at the crown. Panama hats should be held by the brim to avoid cracking.

Frequently asked questions about hat care:

How do I clean my hat?
Most of our hats are recommended to be spot cleaned or brought to a professional (dry cleaner). A lint roller will help with dust. Small spots can be wiped with a cloth. Hats that have been misshapen are very hard to fix without the help of a professional hat maker.

How do I store my hat?
Hats can be hung from a flat hook or nail (covered), placed on a shelf, or in a hat box. Do not put a straw hat in plastic, it will get dried out and will be more likely to crack if it is stored in plastic. A wool felt hat can be wrapped in plastic to protect it from dust. Hats should be stored in a cool, dry place and protected from sunlight and heat.

What do I do if my hat gets wet?
Although our hats are meant to be worn at the pool and beach, unfortunately they are not meant to get wet. When straw gets wet, the natural materials expand and ruin the shape. It is very difficult to get the hat back to its original state after its been wet. Let the hat air dry, and place heavy objects on the brim to flatten.

For a felt hat, a brush may work to get wet spots out of the hat (a dry bristled brush). If this doesn't work, a professional hat service would be recommended.
